Tara the Terrible. That'south what Michael Webster calls his bratty lilliputian sis. She loves getting Michael in trouble. Making his life miserable. Things couldn't get any worse. So Mr. Webster brings home the antique cuckoo clock. It's old. Information technology's expensive. And Mr. Webster won't allow anyone impact it. Poor Michael. He should have listened to his dad. Considering someone put a spell on the clock. A strange spell. A dangerous spell. And now Michael'due south life volition never be the same again...
Plot
Michael Webster has to deal with his annoying little sis Tara, who is always lying and getting him into trouble with their parents. Unfortunately, Tara never gets blamed for these things. On his twelfth birthday, Tara ruins everything. She scratches the new bicycle he was given, tells his trounce that Michael likes her, opens all of Michael's presents ahead of him, and purposely trips Michael while he is conveying his birthday cake, resulting in the cake splattering over Michael's confront. A few days later, his father purchases an antique cuckoo clock from a local shop called Anthony's Antiques, that is supposed to take one flaw. - The 2003 reprint of this book changes Tara's nascence year from 1988 to 1996. The 2015 e-book and the 2020 Retro Fear Collection reprint rewrites Tara's nativity year as 2008.
- The year dial on the clock changes besides. In the 1995 edition, it ends at 2000, in the 2003 edition, information technology ends at 3000, and in the 2015 e-book, information technology ends at 2050.

- According to the Goosebumps Holiday Collector's Caps Volume, while signing books in a mall bookstore, a girl walked up to R.L. Stine. Her name was Tara, and she asked R.L. Stine to make her a character in a Goosebumps volume. She said that she wanted her graphic symbol to be bad, so R.50. Stine named the character Tara Webster (also known as "Tara the Terrible") later on her.
